Rava/Semolina (Sooji) halwa is a quick and easy process which is favorite for all often made in most Indian kitchens. It takes not more than 15mins breakfast recipe. To cook Rava/Semolina (Sooji) halwa is very simple everybody can cook it easily with less time consuming and it’s a healthy food for all.

Ingredients
- 1. 1 cup rava / sooji/ semolina
- 2. 2 tbsp oil / ghee
- 3. ½ tsp turmeric powder
- 4. 1 chopped Onion
- 5. ½ tsp mustard seeds
- 6. ¼ to ½ tsp cumin
- 7. Salt as per your taste
- 8. 2 Green Chilli, slit twice
- 9. 2 medium size chopped tomato
- 10. 3-4 sprig curry leaves
- 11. 1½ cups water
- 12. Sugar (optional)
Instructions
- Heat the pan and add rava / sooji/ semolina in it. Stir it on low flame until it does not burn and check, it turns to light brown. It will take 4-5 mins to roast. It depends on the size and thickness of the pan. Keep aside into a bowl.
- Again heat the same pan with 2 tsp ghee or oil on medium flame. Add mustard seeds, cumin into the pan. Then add Green chilli, chopped onion, curry leaves, stir it for 2-3 mins.
- Add chopped tomato, add salt as per your taste and ½ tsp turmeric powder mix it properly in the pan and cook for 2 mins.
- Pour water and Then add roasted rava / sooji/ semolina to the pan
- Stir constantly for 2-3 minutes to avoid lumps.
- Cover the pan with a lid or a plate and cook on low flame until rava absorb water and it turns into thick. Actually it will take not more than 3-4 minutes. Stir in between regular intervals.
- Lastly switch off the flame. Now it’s ready for eating.
